Bicentenary Celebrations at St.Patrick’s:

Words fail to express adequately the thanks and appreciation due to so many parishioners for the success of the day. One only has to look at the coverage on Emyvale.net and in the Northern Standard. Thanks to Peadar McMahon and Rory Geary. It is true that a picture speaks a thousand words. On the day itself the choir and music team was perhaps the outstanding feature of the celebration, and a special word of thanks to the Blackwater Valley Music Group.

The atmosphere and the joy of the day was captured in the school hall afterwards where the congregation came together for refreshments, provided by Kate McAree and her team of helpers.

The Bishop paid tribute to the sacristan, Maisie Rooney, the Altar Society and the Community Employment Scheme. Add to that those responsible for the booklet, the Mass servers and the men who looked after the car park in dreadful weather conditions. Thanks too to Murphy Videos for recording the occasion.
