League Semi-final V Cremartin 2011

After a shaky year Emyvale managed to get themselves to the semi-final of the Junior Football league and Cremartin was their opponents. The game was played in Tully and things did not go Emyvale’s way with shots on the Cremartin goal being blocked and hitting the crossbar and just hitting wides. Some of the players who needed to perform well were unable to get going. Daniel McMahon was a tightly marked man from the throw-in and Cremartin hit hard and closed most moves down. This was their last chance at qualifying to go up to Intermediate and so it is another year in Junior. There also needs to be a renewal of spirit and hunger as both of those seemed to be missing on Sunday last and without them victory will not come. Too many seemed to have thrown in the towel even before the game started and those who showed determination were left to struggle.
