Appreciation Night.

An ‘Appreciation Night’ was held in the Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday, June 19th. It was organised by the Trustees of the Lorraine Colleran Injury Fund and the Colleran family. The event was very successful and very enjoyable. There was plenty of entertainment from ‘The G Strings’, and the McQuaid School of Dancing, but the highlight of the night had to be Michael O’Muircheartaigh and the guests he interviewed - Peter Canavan, Seamus Banty McEneaney, Packie Bonner and Mickey Harte. This was entertainment at its best and when Michael tells a story it is worth listening to. He showed himself to be the professional and why he is so popular was evident for all. Packie Bonner endeared himself with the attendance as he moved about among them, chatting and having photos and signing autographs.
The Colleran  family were present and played a major role in the activity of the night. Paudge’s brother, Ger, organised a studio with SAM and a Croke Park Hogan Stand background and Suzanne Toal took the photos of people standing with SAM. Certainly a novel idea. You could also have your photo taken with the World Cup Trophy (replica) with a stadium background. This was organised by John Crudden.
Great prizes were sold in the auction and also to be won in the Raffles. There was obviously a great response from businesses and the community for this cause and the attendance showed a great community spirit. Hopefully that in itself will provide some solace and inner support to Lorraine and the families involved in this tragedy
