Tydavnet Heritage Launch.

A group of interested people from the Tydavnet parish have been working hard over the past year and a half putting together a major exhibition of heritage, folklore, stories, history together with photographs and memorabilia and artefacts of a bygone age. This project was funded by Peace 111 and the group worked with Monaghan County Museum and Monaghan County Library. It will be officially launched and opened as an exhibition in the Museum on April13th but the local people were given an opportunity to have a preview in Tydavnet Community Centre on Friday April 1st. A big crowd was welcomed by Eamonn McNally and there were addressed by Liam Bradley, Museum Curator and by Karen McCague from the Library. A special presentation was made to Jennifer (Winnie) McCarron. From the early 70’s she had collected cuttings and photographs relating to Tydavnet parish and Karen had these bound in Hardback copy and this was presented to Winnie.
When it opens in the Museum you should make a special effort to view this great exhibition.
