The following Thank You has come from the Emyvale Cycling Club and I have added a bit at the end.
There are so many people to thank as no event as big as this is possible without the support of so many:
Our main sponsor Monaghan Champion Milk and Vincent Gilhawley for his support.
The Gardai under Sergeant Declan McGarvey, Scotstown.
The Red Cross and ambulance crews who were on hand to help.
Monaghan County Council for the excellent conditions of the roads.
Councillors Sheila McKenna and Sean Conlon, Seamus Coyle, Monaghan Mayor and Caoimhghin O’Caolain TD.
Maguire International, Church Authorities, Scarna Inn, Sherrys and Caulfields for providing parking.
Universal Graphics, Monaghan Plant Hire, Sliabh Beagh Hotel, Emyvale Leisure Centre, Scotstown GAA Club, Rodeo Wrecks, Julie McPhillips (Flowers),
Barry McKenna, Holland International; T.P. Smith cars; Fergal Brady cars; Rally School Ireland cars; Brendan McAree; Martin McKenna;
All those who drove commissaires and lead cars.
The local clergy for facilitating mass and Sunday services to accommodate the racing times.
All our marshals and motorbike marshals and those from outside the club who marshalled The tea ladies and all those who prepared food.
Tydavnet Show Committee and other local committees for helping with traffic.
Local Tidy Towns committees as the villages were decked out immaculately.
Fintan Keenan and family for electricity and Internet facilities.
Local media including Northern Sound Radio,, and The Northern Standard for their excellent coverage of the events.
Gabriel and Kay Howard and Peadar McMahon who kept everyone informed of happenings over the Public Address systems.
Murphy Video Services, who recorded the events, and will have a DVD available soon.
As the safety of all was the priority we apologise for any inconvenience caused due to traffic and road diversions and we thank the residents of North Monaghan for their consideration and patience and for coming out to cheer on the riders.
We thank all Club members who worked so hard before, during and after the event with special mention for Barry Cassidy, Fergal Hughes and Gerard Sherry for taking on their responsibilities and doing an excellent job.
Patsy Brady, the race director, without whose vision and drive the races would never have taken place.
There are probably people I have omitted unintentionally and I apologise but to all those who contributed, a heartfelt thank you from Emyvale Cycling Club. You can all take a well earned rest until the next time!
The next club event is the Tour of Monaghan on the 24th July but after the having the All Irelands this will be a piece of cake!
Emyvale CC.

I would like to add my gratitude to Michael McKenna, Club Secretary, whose endless work and enthusiasm for cycling over many years, has kept the Emyvale Club extremely active and respected throughout Ireland. Also thanks to the other committee members who spent many long hours in preparation and planning. Thanks to Declan McKenna, PRO, and who, as the piper, led the cyclists to the start line of the Senior Race. I would also like to add my congratulations to Patsy Brady for a job excellently executed. Cycling Ireland were right to place their confidence in the Emyvale Club and we thank them for doing so.
Well done to all for giving North Monaghan this powerful opportunity to showcase its beauty, its friendliness and its ability to organise and run major events like this. In these tough economic times you gave us all cause to lift our spirits.
