County & Ulster Girls Soccer trails held at
Monaghan Utd FC grounds on Sunday evening
last. Over 35 girls took part &
Ulster & Monaghan coaches took part in the event.

Drumlin Youths of Monaghan pushed very hard however the Dublin team who have won the Leinster Cup & League in the last 3 years showed some great technique & skill to make it 2-0 with minutes looming. After the game the girls headed to Dublin’s Liffey Valley Shopping Centre for a ‘wee’ bit of shopping. It was a huge achievement on this outing and it was a great experience for all the girls who hail from all over County Monaghan. Well done girls - you did your county proud!!!
Next training for all girls aged 11-17 next Sunday 6-30 – 7.30 @ Monaghan Utd Astro Park (NB:- NEW PLAYERS ALWAYS WELCOME – JUST COME ALONG NEXT SUNDAY )

...Monaghan County Girls Soccer team are edged out in thrilling encounter against Leinster Champions …
The Co Monaghan Girls underage county soccer squad came very close of upsetting all the odds in Dublin last weekend when they took part in the WFAI prestigious national cup competition. Both teams played open, attacking style of football. It was a game of two half’s with Drumlin Youths Girls team representing county Monaghan having a dream first half but unfortunately lady luck wasn’t with them on this occasion as the ladies had on a few good chances early on but failed to register. Half time 0-0.
It was however, Dublin who got off to a perfect start within couple minutes of the second half with a great goal from Sarah Doyle. Monaghan’s XI then settled down again and within 10 minutes a low well struck shot by Ellen Tibby came of the wood work and bounced wide. Monaghan were in complete control at this stage and should if made it 1-1 but for brilliant saving by the Peamount Utd keeper

On right is Girls team, who lost 2-1 in the 2nd round of the FAI national cup competition. They played against a strong W.F.T.A FC team based in Finglas West Dublin. It was a great game in very sunny conditions last Sunday in Dublin.
