Dine with me.

There was this party and it seems it was the worst kept secret as the whole world knew about it. However no one I asked had received an invitation. The organisers wonder how I found out but like all good journalists I never reveal my sources. However it was little use to me when no invitation arrived, so I did what I had to do - I gate-crashed. There were a few surprised faces when I walked in and consternation when they saw the camera. But there was a welcome for me nonetheless and food as one of the photos shows.
What was it all about? The County Monaghan Ladies footballers came up with an innovative method of raising some funds - each player would organise a ‘come dine with me’ in their home and invite friends, neighbours, and colleagues to come and dine with them and then contribute to the fund. From what I saw it was a marvellous idea and a fun way of raising cash and to give good value for money - at least Ciara and Aoife McAnespie did, as that is where I gate-crashed. The food was mighty - plenty of choice, plenty of it, looked great, and from what I had - very tasty. The craic was mighty too but I had to leave all too soon. Anyhow - well done girls. Now I cannot be blamed for the photos as Therese was the photographer.
