Mick Corrigan, a well known personality from North Monaghan emigrated to the USA
many years ago and came back to his home area many times on holiday. He is just after
spending another two weeks on a visit and he enjoyed every minute. Four of his family
came with him - three sons (Pat, Brian and Michael) and a daughter, Deirdre. They
also spent time touring the country and visiting relatives on their mother’s side
around the Galway area. Pat told me that this was his first time in Ireland and he
was delighted to have the opportunity to see so many places. He also enjoyed his
trip to Giants Causeway and other landmarks. I caught up with them as they enjoyed
a little get-together in St. Mellans on Saturday night prior to their departure back
to the States on Sunday. I would have loved to have time to chat to Mick as he would
have great memories and could recall many events f the area from his early years.
Hopefully I will get the chance next time we meet. We wish him and his family a safe
journey and look forward to their next visit.
