Boxing Tournament for Chieftain Mickey.

It was a great night in the ring as 22 brave souls gave all their energies for the honour of winning and to help raise funds for the Community Centre in Aughnacloy. Contestants from many areas were involved and it was terrific to see the neighbouring areas all chipping in for the project. It was a tough night in the ring too as nobody held back and there was a lot of energy expended during the 11 bouts. They had three minute rounds of one and a half minute each and you might think that is a short period of time but, as became clear, that energy levels fall sharply when there is such intensity and some contestants just used it all up in the opening round and left them little for the other two. However that was part of the battle and we must have a great appreciation for those who offered their services and gave so much of themselves for this event. The organisation was also top class and everyone involved are to be congratulated.
