Queen of the Fete Selection.

On Sunday night Rainbow provided the music for the Fete Dance in the Park and the Roses were there with supporters from family and friends. The Judges had interviewed each Rose and were deliberating until about 11.30 when the results were announced. All gathered on the Tennis Court to hear the results and there was an air of anticipation. As I watched the girls mingle throughout the day and actively take part in many of the competitions I was very impressed with the quality of personalities and pitied the Judges. However the Chairperson of the Judging Panel, Carmel Kingston, complimented all the participants and announced 3rd place to Melanie Colleran, 2nd place to Julie McNally and Cathy Toal as Queen of the Fete for 2011. A Tiara, hand-made by Lorraine Colleran, and the Sash were presented and it was congratulations all around. The music and dancing continued till early.
