Monaghan Girl Guides

Monaghan Girl Guides celebrated the 100th Centenary of Girl Guides at their Award Ceremony recently. The unit were delighted to welcome back Eunice Hall, who is now living in Dublin, but has been an a great advisor to the Unit. The Awards were presented by the Leaders Siobhan O’Connor, Heather Wilson & Eleanor McDermott.

Gold Award recipients pictured on right were- Emily Treanor, Natasha Wilson & Ellen McDermott: who completed several challenges and gained many new skills over the past 4 years. Cooper Beech Award recipients were -, Claire McEnaney, Aoife Cooper, Aine Collins, Caoimhe McKenna, Aoife Trenaor, & Niamh Collins. Spruce Award recipients were - Shannon McKenna, Hannah Cullen, Alison McBride, Katie Macklin, Lyndsey Meehan & Joan McEnaney.

Young leaders: Aoife Bradley, Leah Totten, & Olivia Swetak also received Certificate.

The Unit attended National celebrations of Irish Girl Guides last month in Semple Stadium Thurles, Co. Tipperary to celebrate the Centenary of Irish Girl Guides.

Aoife Bradley presented a Birthday Cake to Leader Siobhan O’Connor to mark the occasion at the special unit meeting.

The Leaders also thanked all those who assisted with Unit Meetings during the year. Pictured on right with the Leaders are Kathryn McCague, Ann Marie Treanor & Shirley Cullen.

Eunice Hall & Siobhan O’Connor who are leaving Girl Guides have been volunteers with the unit since it was founded by Eunice almost 10 years ago. They wish like to thank everyone for their support and said it has been a marvelous experience and they both have made many new friends.
