Mr and Mrs in Mellans

On Saturday July 30th Truagh Hurling Club held a Mr and Mrs competition in St. Mellans. A big crowd turned out to witness the battle between six couples for the title. The MCs for the occasion were Ann Treanor and John McAnespie and both gave a much better than Grainne Seoige or Derek Mooney performance. The couples were the stars and their cooperation and participation was crucial to the success of the venture. They provided plenty of humour and entertainment and made for a very enjoyable night of comedy and frivolity. Well done to all concerned.

Four couples were eliminated in the initial rounds and the final was between Barry and Barbara Treanor V Liam and Nora McKenna. Barry was fastest with the Charade and so was the winner. The picture above shows how Liam felt when he heard Barry’s time.
