Reunion to Mark the Ordination of Bishop Liam S. MacDaid.

The reunion of classmates and former students of St. Macatan’s College gathered on Saturday, Oct 1st at 6.30pm in the College. At 7 the Bishop concelebrated Mass in the College Chapel. Bishop Duffy and Mgr. Sean Cahill VG with Fr. Shane McCaughey and a Fr Stephen Joyce. This was followed by a reception in the College and then all headed to the Four Seasons Hotel for a very tasty meal and wonderful companionship. A presentation was made to Bishop Liam and the chat continued till the early hours. On Sunday morning a number of past pupils visited the college and were surprised at the massive changes since they were there in the late 50’s and early 60’s.
All in all it was a very successful function and reports from those attending were all very positive. Below are some photos which I took but the Northern Standard will carry the official presentation photo.

A ‘special dessert’ for the special guest was prepared for the occasion. Former boarders would know it as ‘rubber duck’.
