Seniors

Our seniors had a great win last Saturday winning the cup competition in the Abbey Fanning 7 a side tournament. We entered 2 teams in the competition and found ourselves in the same group along with Donaghmoyne A, Clann Eireann and Cooley. Our A team came out top of the group and into the cup competition. Competition was very tight in the group with very little separating the teams. Our second team gave everything they had and went into the shield competition. Luck was against them again when they were drawn against Donaghmoyne A in the quarter finals. Our A team got a bye in the quarter finals and were drawn against Clann Eireann in the semi finals. Having only narrowly beaten them in the group this was once again a very tough and close encounter, but in the end the girls came out top. The final saw them drawn against the host club Monaghan Harps who had been equally impressive all day. In the end however Emyvale ran out winners. To finish off what was a successful day, Nicola Fahy was awarded Player of the Tournament. Well done Nicola.

Last Wednesday our seniors travelled to Inniskeen in the reserve league and came away with 2 points. This week they play Donaghmoyne. Results next week.

There are a round of fixtures out for this weekend. This Saturday evening our Senior A team play Magheracloone in Tully. Throw in at 7.30 p.m. and on Monday next our B team travel to Inniskeen.

The dates for the senior and junior championship were made last week. The junior championship is fixed for Friday 16th July at home to Truagh at 7.15 p.m.. Then Thursday 22nd July is the date for our senior championship semi final against reigning All Ireland champions Donaghmoyne. This game is fixed for Tully. Throw in 7.30 pm.
