Kevin Donnelly Memorial Tournament Cup 2011

The Kevin Donnelly Memorial Tournament took place in Tully on Saturday April 2nd 2011. It was disappointing that only 5 teams turned up for this tournament in memory of a man who gave so much to Ladies GAA. However those who did attend provided the spectators and supporters with plenty to cheer about and the excitement was high at times. In the end it was the home club - Emyvale - who took the Shield with Ciara McQuaid collecting the Shield and Alana O’Donaghue getting Player of the Final. In the Cup it was a very strong Carryduff team which finally took victory but their opponents, Truagh, gave them a close run for their effort. Kathy Murray, Carryduff, won Player of the Tournament and their captain, Leanne Murray, was presented with the Cup by Concepta Donnelly. The other prizes were presented by members of the Donnelly family. Well done to all concerned.
Concepta took ill shortly after the presentations and was attended to by Red Cross personnel. We send her our best wishes and hope that she makes a full recovery very soon.
