Basketball League Tables

U 12 Boys
The U 12 boys as the table below shows finished second and will have a home semi final against Queens Swish. This has been a great season for the boys and with a big push can end in the final.

U 14 Boys
The Donagh under 14 boys have been assured of a home semi final finishing in a comfortable second place and will now play Lisburn in St Macartans on March 10th at 10am.
U 12 Girls
The under 12 girls finished third and will have to travel to Belfast for their semi final, lets hope they can secure a final place.

U 14 Girls
As you can see from the table below the Donagh under14 girls finished 2nd in the BNI league and thus qualify for a home semi final against third placed Lisburn. This game takes place on Sunday March 11th in St Macartans College Monaghan at 4pm. This will be a tough game for Donagh but they have to expect to come through it to make the final. Lisburn beat Donagh at the start of the season but the Monaghan side turned the tables on them at the beginning of the year so there might not be much between them.

U 16 Girls
The under 16 girls finished even closer to the top side but were undone by the head to head points difference. Our neighbours Tyrone Towers won the league but Donagh will play third placed Queens in the semi final to be played in St Macartans College on Sunday Mar 11 at 5.15pm. This will be a very close game if history is anything to go by, Donagh have beaten Queens twice this season but only by a basket in the first match and then by the narrowest of margins 1pt in the away game. If the Monaghan girls play to their strengths they should come through this one.

U 18 Boys
Donagh were due to play they last game of the league last Saturday at home against Belfast Rising Stars, but unfortunately the team could not travel so the points went to Donagh as a forfeit. This result finalised the top four teams for the playoffs. Donagh finished the league level with Omagh on points at the top of the table but had to settle for second place as Omagh had a higher point’s difference. This was due to the big loss Donagh experienced in their away game to Omagh in February. Andersonstown Tigers took third place while Ulster Elks finished in fourth place. As Donagh are sitting in 2nd place, they have the home advantage against 3rd placed Andersonstown Tigers, which will be played this weekend in St. Macartans.
This semi-final is well matched as both teams have beaten each other once, the scoring being low and the wins narrow. This is the first season that Donagh have entered a team in the un18 B division, so the boys will be focused and need to raise their game as Andersonstown will also be looking for that spot in the final. The Donagh boys have trained well all season and have produced great results along the way. To miss out on winning the league is a disappointment, but to finish second is a great achievement for them. So get in the zone boys and have a great semi- final.
