These fish were caught on the fly at Emy lake during the week ending May 16th, by Emyvale locals - Martin McKenna (the big fish was 5lb 3oz) & Paudge Cassidy (the small one? it was 3lb 9oz)

the lake is starting to fish well at the moment - the May fly is up with an excellent hatch along the Eastern shoreline during this week..

Competition of 2010

Pillar House Cup 2010.

The Pillar House Cup Angling Competition was held on Emy Lake on Sunday, Sept 12th. 2010. Twelve fly-fishing anglers participated in the event and satisfying catches were recorded. Winner of Pillar House Cup was Brian Corrigan from Glaslough (his double of the season) with the heaviest fish of 3 lb 11.4oz; very very close in second and last year winner Tommy McCaffery, Emyvale, with fish 3 lb 11oz & third Martin Mc Kenna, Emyvale with a lovely  fish of 2lb 11.6oz.

Eleven fish were landed on the day with some personal bests. Congratulations to all.

The prizes were presented by Barry McKenna in the Pillar House afterwards, where there was refreshments for everyone.
