At the Fireside.

Work has begun and is well advanced for the completion of the Walk Around Emy Lake. Donagh Development Association have continued with great determination to get this project to a satisfactory conclusion and they must be admired for that. This is a facility which should be of great benefit to a huge number of people and provide them with a safe environment and a very pleasing location for their daily walks. Grant aid has been promised and the work is going well. However local funds are required for some aspects of the work not covered by the grant and so the final push is on to have the money available when needed so that the walkway will be finished and open for the Xmas Day swim of this year.
The committee is at present producing a DVD of song, music, dance and story which they hope to have on sale for the Christmas market. This will be a terrific DVD for people at home and abroad and contains artists from the North Monaghan region. One section of this was recorded in Treanor’s Ceili House recently and that was a very enjoyable night. Some of the photos from that are below but you will have to get the finished DVD to appreciate the quality of the performances and the great atmosphere there on the night.
