Emyvale Fun Run  Jan 1st 2010

The first ever Emyvale Run was held on January 1st 2010and it was a huge success. Thanks to the great preparation work by Geraldine McAree and her Jolly Joggers, assisted by Noel Kennedy and the Glaslough Harriers, over 250 runners participated and they came from a wide area and many counties. Many visitors praised the event and stated that they would be back next year.

That was all great news especially for the organisers but just as good was the fact that the event raised €3,000, which was being donated to the North Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support Group and that was presented at a Jolly Joggers session at Tully on Monday night last.

Above Geraldine McAree and Helen Kennedy present the €3,000 cheque to North Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support group representatives - Mary Jo Earley, Maeve McCluskey and Mary McGrane.

Well done to all who helped with the event and especially to Geraldine McAree, who came up with the idea and implemented the plans to a very successful conclusion.
