Santa in Maurice Grahams.

The Graham family and staff laid on a great reception for the arrival of Santa at their stores on Saturday, Dec. 4th. There was tea/coffee and very tempting cakes, mince pies and tray-bakes on offer free for everyone, with soft drinks for the younger people. There were exhibitions of local produce and tastings to go with them. The event was also used to give people a chance to assist the Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support group by buying tickets for the draws held in the store throughout the afternoon and there were fabulous prizes to be won here, thanks to the Graham family again. The entire store was buzzing with shoppers, giving special attention to the Toy and Household departments and there were plenty of great bargains to be had. There was also a great range of items on display and many went home with presents sorted for their families and friends.
Of course for the younger generation Santa was the big attraction and a constant stream of callers paid a visit to him in his Den which had been specially constructed for the day. Again the Graham family covered the costs of Santa giving out free gifts to all the boys and girls who called. Speaking to Santa before he departed he said that he was - ‘delighted to have had the opportunity to visit Maurice Grahams and to meet so many lovely people’. He said that the children who called were terrific and very good and he would have to try his best to get them good presents for Christmas.
We show a selection of photos of the day.
