Route of New Roadway.

On Wednesday and Thursday, July 7th and 8th Monaghan County Council held a Public Consultation in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan, in relation to the proposed new roadway from Clontibret to the Border at or near Aughnacloy. They were and are anxious that members of the public, especially those who will be directly effected by the route chosen, take part in the planning process and that the views of all are communicated to the Council. If you did not get a chance to go to the Four Seasons you can access the maps and the consultation documents on the Monaghan County Council website under the Roads section. It is important that the opinions of the public are voiced and now is the time to do it rather than the day the diggers move in. The planning is such that due consideration can be given to the views expressed by the public and every effort will be made to accommodate all opinion.

Below we show pictures of some of those who were present when we called and we also have an audio interview with a member of the Grontmij Consultants who are working on the investigations re. suitability of the various proposed routes.

Click on Demitrios picture above to hear some of the information on the routes. More information on the County Council Website and your opinion is important.
