Jolly Joggers Fun Table Quiz.
The Red Boys was the venue for a very enjoyable Fun Table Quiz on Friday, Nov 12th
in aid of the Jolly Joggers. The money raised will be used in the organising the
New Year’s day Run/Walk/Jog starting at the top of the Village. Last year was the
inaugural year for this event and it attracted big crowds from all over Ulster and
beyond. They all praised the organisation and everything about the day and promised
to return in 2011. It is expected that there will be a huge number of participants
this year and many hands will be needed at the wheel both leading up to and on the
day itself. Members of the Glaslough Harriers are also involved in the organisation
and they are all ‘old hands’ at this type of event so another great day is promised.
The proceeds of the New Year’s Day run will go to The Cancer Treatment Support group
which is a very worthy cause. So why not make the decision now that you are going
to run/jog or walk either the 10km circuit or the shorter 6km route. You will enjoy
it and feel great afterwards.
The Quiz on Friday night attracted a great crowd and
they enjoyed the atmosphere and the fun. This was assisted by the excellent questions
set by the maestro of the quiz - Paddy Flood. There was a hard working bunch of assistants
led by Geraldine and Bronagh and Geraldine and Majella did a great job of looking
after the scores. This correspondent enjoyed calling the questions and had the easiest
job of the night. However great thanks must go to Peter and Mary and the staff of
the Red Boys for laying on everything that was needed an beyond and also for providing
a very tasty supper for all. There was also a huge number of prizes for the raffle
and all who contributed are to be thanked for their generosity.
There will be another
great Fun Quiz night in the Red Boys on Friday, Nov 26th in aid of the Emyvale Ladies
GFC and you can be sure of a powerful night.
