Vintage Club Dance 2018/19: Monaghan Veteran and Vintage Club held its annual Vintage Dance in the Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday Janiary 19th 2019. This is a very active club as it organises a big number of events throughout the year and as a result there was a very big turn-out at their annual dance. Indeed the numbers have been steadily growing over the past ten years and it is terrific to see this as the Club is a very important instrument by which our history and our heritage will be saved for future generations. They cover so many aspects of that heritage and record it for posterity through their events and they are handing on so much that would otherwise be lost.  The lifestyle, the farming methods, transport, machinery and work instruments, the toils and work ethic, the houses and the food, the lives and deaths of our forefathers have been documented and are constant reminders for the present and future generations of the sacrifices and labours that our forefathers lived through to pass on this world to us in as good a shape as possible. Well done to the members of the Vintage Club as you are doing a real service for our country and for future generations. The Vinatge Dance was a very enjoyable occasion and an opportunity for members of the Club, and indeed many neighbouring clubs, to get together in a social atmosphere and to chat, compare and tell stories. The food, the music and the companionship at the dance was all top class and was a great success with a big number going home with a Raffle prize.
