Who Wants To Be A Thousandaire: A big crowd turned up at ‘Who Wants to be a Thousandaire’ in the Four Seasons Hotel for the event organised by St. Macartan’s College and I’m sure 100% of them would love to go home with €1,000 but not all would fancy siting in the hotseat answering questions in front of a huge crowd or being caught out on a simple question. However eight contestants were selected and all went home with money but the highest amount was €500 and to take the chance on that final question was a step too far. It was all good fun and an entertaining night and, as announced by the Chairperson of the organising committee, Fionnuala Gallagher, it was a very successful project as over €50,000 is expected to be the outcome. At the beginning Principal, Raymond McHugh, highlighted the extensive and generous response from the business community in and around North Monaghan and beyond prior to the night and expressed thanks to all of them. It has to be said too that the company , Pallas Marketing, presented a very professional show and were of great assistance to the committee in organising the event. The list of contestants, though some were playing for others, was: Jimmy Cosgrove, Ann Mulholland, Adrian Fitzgerald, Caoimhe Hurson, Noel Murphy, Martin Mullen, Deirdre McGuigan, Harry Dwyer. Well done to them and well done to the organisers.
