North Monaghan Social Services:
Christmas Party 2018: The members of North Monaghan Social Services group held their Christmas Party in Emyvale Leisure Centre on Thursday, December 6th and had invited guests along too. A full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings was enjoyed by all and the prayers service led by Fr. Hubert and the entertainment all gelled to make a lovely afternoon. This weekly event which has been going since 1988 is a tremendous asset for the area and can be availed of by anyone living in North Monaghan and all are welcome. The staff, all volunteers, are to be commended for their contribution of time and energy in preparing and serving the food and clearing up afterwards. More hands are needed and anyone who would like to help out should contact Mick Kavanagh or Marie Murphy, or any committee member, to offer their services. The Cooked food is supplied by the HSE and this makes it possible for the service to survive. The entertainment is also on a volunteer basis and that is very much appreciated. Christmas party always has that extra with seasonal additions and is always a very happy occasion and 2018 was no different.
