National Walk: Monaghan Sports Partnership organised a Walk as part of the National Walk Day for Operation Transformation. Emy Lake walk was one of the three chosen centres and at 10.30 people began to sign-on for the 11am Start. In total there were 70 starters and all ages were represented as they headed off on a full round of Emy Lake. The weather was kind in that it stopped raining just before the OFF and stayed dry till everyone had reached the finish line where refreshments awaited. Chairman of Donagh Development Association, John Sherry, assisted Paul Gallier, Monaghan Sports Partnership in running the event. It is hoped that more and more people will get a liking for exercise and walking is a very beneficial way of exercising to improve health and fitness. Well done to all involved. Our photos show most of those who took part but I missed a few who started a little late as I headed off to St. Mellans to see what was going on there.
