The Monaghan Michaela Foundation Camp 2019 for girls aged 11-13 ran from the 15th-19th July, in St Tiernach's PS, Clones. The mission of Michaela Foundation is to promote the core values through each and every activity they operate. The Michaela Foundation Core Values are: Irish – The love of Irish language and cultural identity; Faith – The development of trust and a relationship with God who loves us dearly; Fun – Having fun throughout our life; Well-Being – Looking after our mental and physical self and that of others; Fashion – An expression of our creativity and artistic self. 101 grils participated in what was a truly rewarding and unforgettable week both for the leaders and campettes. I attended on the final morning, which culminated in an inspiring celebration of Mass, celebrated by Fr. Leo Creelman, and the joy, power, confidence and friendship witnessed was wondrous. The Leaders, under the guidance of Roisin, certainly achieved the aims of the camp and all are to be congratulated for their contribution to this wonderful life-experience. Each participant was awarded a Certificate of Awesomeness at the end, which will remind them of a very happy and gainful week in their lives. I also thank them for the framed picture they gave me and I will treasure it. Thew values by which Michaela lived her life certainly will live on in the lives of so many as a result of these camps and there were 19 helds in various locations this summer.
