Principal Retires: Mr. Michael Boyce, who has been the Principal of St. Patrick’s National School, Corracrin for the past 26 years retires at the end of this school year. On Friday, June 21st 2019 the pupils staged a Concert as a way of saying thanks and farewell to Mr. Boyce who has made a huge contribution to the area during his time in St. Patrick’s, and every pupil was involved. Each year group had a different performance and music, song, poetry and dance all featured with comedy thrown in here and there. At the end of each presentation the class had a personalised gift for the Master and indeed they will be lovely keep-sakes to remind him of his days in Corracrin. A great deal of practice must have gone in to the preparation for the day and the various teachers must be complimented for bringing out the talent of the school and using it to pay tribute to the principal. Mr. Boyce thanked all involved in the event and complimented all the pupils. Earlier the Department Inspector paid a visit to the school and had a meeting with the Principal. Later in the day a very appropriate and fitting End Of Year Mass was celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church and this was attended by parents and siblings of the pupils and the pupils and teachers.
