Monaghan Fittest Company: Health and Fitness of staff has been an important issue in Silver Hill Farm and they came up with the idea of a Monaghan Fittest Company competition. They teamed up with Glaslough Harriers to put the plan together and between them they decided that the proceeds would go to Truagh Special Needs. The event was held on Sat, June 29th in Rossmore Park and what a success and what a fantastic event. 40 relay teams of four were entered with each person running 1km and handing over to team mate and the fastest team to finish would be winner. Despite a cloudburst at the start the weather was excellent and the crowds of participants and spectators caused a mighty buzz. The event ran very smoothly and with great excitement and when the times were checked the winners were announced and presented with their prizes by Bernie McKenna, Ann Treanor and Helen Brady - representing Truagh Special Needs. The Mixed Team award went to the Upstairs Downstairs quartet of Jack Kelly, Ronan McNally, Declan McNally and Aoife McAnespie. The winning Ladies team was Aine McElwain, Rachel McKenna, Lisa McGlade and Mary Freeman representing The Squealing Pig and the Overall winners were from Silver Hill Farm - Cormac McKenna, Vicantes, Emmet O’Neill and Andrew O’Brien. A fantastic idea, implemented with precision and good planning, and enjoyed by all. Well done to all involved. Presentation of Cheque ……. HERE
