Gaelic4Girls has taken Emyvale by storm, with 34 girls from the parish and surrounding
areas descending onto St. Oliver Plunkett Park, Emyvale on Saturday last 14th April,
to be treated to 60 minutes of great fun and coaching in Ladies Gaelic Football.
County and Allstar club players Aoife and Ciara McAnespie were there to help launch
the programme, mentoring and advising the budding stars of the future. This programme
continues for another 7 weeks every Saturday from 10-11am in Emyvale. It is fantastic
to see so many enthusiastic girls, most with no prior experience of Ladies Football,
having fun and enjoying themselves.
The programme is open to all girls aged 8-12 who are not part of a Ladies Gaelic
Club, and who are interested in learning the skills of the game. All girls from Emyvale
and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and learn the skills of Ladies
Gaelic Football from enthusiastic coaches. The girls will be taught the basic skills
of Gaelic Football on a fun basis and will get to demonstrate their new skills at
a provincial mini-blitz with other Gaelic4Girls sites. All girls will be presented
with a Gaelic4Girls T Shirt and certificate. The cost for the entire programme is
only €10. For more information, please contact Karen on 0877908650.
Saturday evening the 21st the club is holding a guest tea in Emyvale leisure centre
from 7 to 9pm, There will be some great raffle prizes up for grabs on the evening.
