Duffy family from PEI pay a Visit to Monaghan

I spent a few hours on Friday, October 20th 2017 with four visitors from Prince Edward Island and was delighted to do so. When Edelle, our daughter, paid a visit to PEI a couple of years ago they met and were treated extremely well by the people there and Mary Leah Trainor and Charlie and Anna Duffy were mentioned specially. When I heard that two of the visitors this week were Duffys, I had no hesitation in spending time with them. They are Pat and Sharon Duffy and their friends John and Jenny, and Jenny is also related to Charlie. They arrived in Monaghan on Wednesday and had time to look around Monaghan town and were very impressed with their visit to Monaghan Museum and expressed thanks to Curator, Liam. I took them on tour to Glaslough and Castle Leslie, then to Donagh Old Graveyard, to Mullan village and the border, to Ballyoisin where they paid a visit to Willie's grave, and then to Emyvale and on to St. Patrick's Corracrin to pay their respects at the tomb of Canon Moynagh. It was a very pleasant trip and in excellent company and hopefully they will remember their visit to this area and encourage others to come and see what we have to offer.
