World Champion Dancers: Two Globeholders in One Family. It would be a very rare occasion, if it has ever happened before, when one family has two Globeholders at the same time but the Corrigan family from Truagh/Monaghan can claim that honour as a result of powerful performances by Connie and Patrick in the recent 2019 World Comhdhail Dancing Championships held in the INEC, Killarney, just before Easter.Connie Ní Chorragáin, Patrick Ó Corragáin, and Jamie Ní Chorragáin are dancers with Scoil Rince Ní Bhrogáin, which was established by Frances Brogan and is based in Tyrone and North Monaghan. Since its beginning its dancers have won many titles at local, provincial, All-Ireland and World level. Connie and Patrick were members, who reached the World finals this year and Jamie would have been there too were it not for an injury she sustained earlier, which forced her to sit out the finals.Connie was dancing in the Girls U11 section and finished in 5th place in the World. The top 5 placed dancers receive Globes and so Connie was presented with her Globe. Patrick danced in the Boys U15 section and he was awarded 2nd place overall and so he too collected a Globe making it a wonderful Double for the Corrigan family. Our congratulations to them on such a marvellous achievement and we know that it came about after a great commitment by both in the training and preparations and constant support from parents, Mickey and Caroline. Well done.
