I’m A Celebrity: Community Development in the main depends on volunteers and concerned individuals getting together to achieve some benefit for the community and with so many clubs, organisations and groups vying for funds through fundraising activity it attracts more support when it is something new, something innovative and something which will cause people to talk and spread the word so that there is a wish and an expectation among the public to witness this new carry-on especially when it involves local names and characters. Carrickroe community have begun a Childcare facility but already the demand has outgrown the ability of the facility to meet the requirement and so expansion is needed. To help fund this they have announced that I’a Cleebrity - get me out of here’ will take place in February. The event was launched last week in the Scarna Inn when contestants were announced and the details of the event published. Contestants present included: Paul Corr, Julie McPhillips, Sean McCaffrey, John Kelly, Ann Marie McCaffrey, Matthew Flood, Jarlath Treanor, Shane McCarron, Martin Lavery, Gabriel McAree, Morgan McKenna, Barry Cuddy, Vincent McQuaid, Ann McKenna, Brian McKenna, Francie McKenna, Raymond Aughey and the following contestants were unable to be present - Caolan McGee, Dan Togan, Eamonn Sheehan, Erin Treanor, Shane Maguire. All contestants will be organising individual fundraising activities over the coming weeks and looking for your support. The event is sponsored by Energia and they were represented at the launch by Rob Scott and Rosy Billingham.
