Gary Askin Run Presentations 2019 Gary Askin Run 2019 … HERE
On Friday, August 16th, the community of North Monaghan and beyond gathered at Emyvale GAA Grounds to take part in the second annual ‘Run To Remember Gary Askin. Organised by Gary’s family & friends, a huge number of people once again attended the event with all donations going towards the Cavan Down Syndrome, The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, Glaslough Harriers and Corracrin NS, all of which represents a connection to Gary’s life. It was an incredibly poignant evening and the large crowd in attendance was a touching tribute to Gary and the high regard he was held in by all those who knew him. On behalf of the organising committee of ‘A Run To Remember Gary Askin’ we would like to thank Emyvale GAA for hosting the event and for the use of their facilities. We would also like to thank Glaslough Harriers for once again organising the logistics of the Walk/Run. To An Garda Siochana, stewards and Red Cross for ensuring the safety of participant’s right around the route, this was of great help and comfort to everyone involved. And finally to everyone who helped with the event including catering staff, announcers, photographers, especially all who participated & donated, this would not have been possible without each of you and we are so grateful for all your efforts. The presentation to the chosen charities took place in Corracrin National School last Wednesday 2nd October. Gary’s parents Eddie & Geraldine presented the cheques to the representatives of each recipient.
Helen Mallen accepts on behalf of Corracrin School.
Brian Finn and Eamon Hackett accept on behalf of Glaslough Harriers.
Peter McMahon accepts on behalf of the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
Brian, Orla, Odhran, Ciara, Caoimhe and Grainne Clinton accept on behalf of Cavan Down Syndrome.
