Arts Network Christmas Concert 2018:
Every month Monaghan Arts Network showcases the cream of Monaghan’s talent in the Market House Monaghan.  As has been the tradition for the past five years each of the music acts receives an invitation for a return performance. This year is no different, excepting that this year will be even bigger and better and will take place in the theatre space of The Garage Theatre. The Concert will take place on Wednesday 19th of December at 8pm and will be FREE. Just like previous years this will be the highlight of the Network’s year when previous music acts from the 2018 showcases will take to the stage – Don’t miss: country legend Gloria, Singer Songwriter Marcus McGee, Monaghan’s own Packie (Mo) McDonald, The Monaghan U3A Choir, Castleblayney musician Jim McHugh, Cootehill musician Ben Folkman, Violinist Marie Claire Brodie, Monaghan duo DD Rich, Sean Nos dancer Paul Cassidy, The magnificent Monaghan Blues Jam, a return from the U3A Choir and young sean nos singers  Aoibhinn Ní Chaoibhínn and Pearse Larkin, and many more acts to be confirmed. As usual there will be some tasty treats and the obligatory Christmas raffle which is jam-packed with amazing prizes from many of the retail businesses in Monaghan town. Being that it’s the 5th Year celebrations for the Network there will also be a very special attendance prize. This is curtesy of the Monaghan Country and Western Festival and offers a meet and greet with one of the stars from the Festival in 2019. The line up has yet to be confirmed but it promises to be as star spangled as ever! Tickets for the concert can be obtained from the Garage Theatre or from committee members. As always, donations on the night will be very much appreciated as the group is totally voluntary and runs on the good will of the attendance at all its events. This promises to be a wonderful night and who knows Santa might even drop by with gifts for the audience!
