As part of National Heritage Week, Sandra McQuaid, and the Heritage section of Monaghan
County Council, organised a Wild Child Day in Rossmore Park on Wednesday August 23rd
last. It began at 10.00am and finished at 4.00pm and it was a very successful event
as big number participated and all enjoyed the day as well as learning about nature
and having fun in the process. There was Electro Fishing, Nature Walks, Face Painting,
Pond Dipping, Workshops on Nature and lots of other interesting activities. Refreshments
were available but most took a picnic with them and it was terrific to see families
scattered around the grounds enjoying the picnic. Monaghan Civil Defence were present
and County Council staff were on hand to provide the learning and answer the questions.
Well done to all involved.
