U14 Ladies League Final 2011.

Emyvale U14 ladies faced Donaghmoyne in the final of the U14 Div 1 League 2011. It was held in Tyholland on Monday, August 29th. There was a good turnout of parents and supporters and the Emyvale folk went home very happy with the great victory. From the very beginning Emyvale girls demonstrated a determination and hunger and this momentum was maintained throughout the game. They were soon in a commanding lead though Donaghmoyne were always dangerous. Every so often Donaghmoyne took control for a five minute period and it looked at times that Emyvale members were wilting but then the surge came again and another goal and a few points would be added to the score. Every player gave a committed performance and it would be difficult to single out any individual but if it had to be done I would hand Player of the Game award to Rebecca Hughes, the captain, but I could also name 15 others who were very close behind her. The management of Barney McNally, Sean Hughes, Brenda McAnespie, Erin Treanor, Enda O’Brien and Michelle Corley are to be congratulated for the manner in which this team was prepared and the obvious great spirit among the team members. Well done to all and you have given the Ladies Club plenty of optimism for the future with talent like that.
