Boxing in Tyholland

On Saturday, January 28th 2012 Tyholland Boxing Club organised a Tournament in the Tyholland Centre. There was a disappointing crowd of spectators but those, who were there, enjoyed a hectic programme of very good and evenly matched contests. Seven members of the home club participated while Emyvale ABC provided five boxers, though Oisin Treanor did not get an opponent. Boxers from Derrylin, Inniskeen, Cootehill, Castleblayney, Smithboro, Clones, Carrickmacross, Omagh and Cavan were involved. Conal McKenna, Emyvale ABC, gave a great performance and got victory over Dan McCa\rthy, Castleblayney. Dolores Hughes from the Emyvale club also starred and showed great determination and ability to get a win over Helen Moran from Derrylin. Dermot Treanor gave his usual spirited performance and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Kevin Mangan, Clones.
