SHARED SPACE TO BE ENJOYED

Last Friday morning, if you where travelling between Emyvale and Aughnacloy the sun shone on a shared picnic site that has now been transformed due to the teamwork of participants completing a Landscaping Training Programme with Blackwater Regional Partnership.

After many months of hard work both in and out of the classroom this space is now a lovely place to picnic or take a rest from driving.

To official begin the proceeding the Mayor of County Monaghan Cllr Seamus Coyle welcomed both Cllr Pat Daly from Dungannon & South Tyrone Council and Cllr Joy Rollston from Armagh City and District Council.

Participants welcomed back Errigal Truagh Special Needs Group that previously produced an art piece for the site and had been the centre piece when the group started to plan and transform this area.

Today, if you travelling between Emyvale and Aughancloy please take time to stop at this shared picnic site and enjoy how this area has been transformed.

Blackwater Regional Partnership thank the participants on the course for their dedication and commitment and congratulate them in achieving a FETAC Level 5 in Landscaping and Maintenance. Funding for this training programme had been kindly granted by International Fund for Ireland and is managed by the Northern Ireland Rural Development Council (RDC), under the Integrating Communities Programme.

Many areas like this are jotted within the Blackwater Region and the partnership encourage local communities to come together and complete a project similar to this one.  To find out more about the  partnerships activities please contact julieannspence@dungannon.gov.uk or by telephoning 00 44 (0) 28 3756 9102.
