Taste of Monaghan Festival.

The second Taste of Monaghan festival was launched in the Markethouse, Monaghan, on Monday, Sept 27th. There was a great reaction to this festival last year and it brought a renewed life to the social scene in the town. In these times of economic gloom something is needed to brighten life and give us a cause to rejoice. It is also an encouragement to us to spend a little extra to assist the local economy and to look at our food and menu with a more critical eye. We all love good food and many many enjoy new tastes and presentations on our plates. This is a time to indulge a little and in many ways it will also be an opportunity to look at ways by which we can feed ourselves and our families better and cheaper. For whatever reason we wish to take, we are encouraged by the organisers to come to town and taste the food. The hardworking Monaghan Chamber of Commerce are doing their best to help Monaghan turn the corner and become vibrant again - we need to support them.

They are also launching a Recipe Book specific to the festival and it contains new and traditional recipies which will be well worth trying out.

Below we show some photos from the launch and by clicking the individual photos you can hear some of the address they delivered at the launch. Listen to Riona to hear the programme of events for the Festival or pick up a programme from many establishments around the town.
