Great Show by Mc Aree
The International Junior Tour 2010 Finished on Sunday the 11th
July and our very own Niall McAree who took part in this event put up a fantastic
performance to finish 35th in a very large field of riders from all over the world.
While the other riders where in teams Niall rode the tour on his own and what would
have been the result if he had some team mate to ride with him. On behalf of all
in the club we congratulate Niall and we are proud of the job you done, - lets hope
our under age riders will try and pick up from Niall.
Sliabh Beagh Tour
Last Sunday
the club held the Sliabh Beagh Tour. Around 50 brave souls tackled the 100km route
with very little flat roads. Everyone seemed to enjoy the tour especially some of
our new members who took part, John Kelly who has only started cycling this year
rode very well as did Patrick Mulroe. Keep up the good work lads. As with any of
our event's we couldn't have done it without the help of the backroom staff. A big
thank you to the ladies who had the tea and sandwiches ready for us on our return.
Also to Patsy Brady and George McCarron who kept us topped up with water and also
a special word of thanks to Mark Treanor who drove the broom wagon. Mark has helped
the club out on a number of times and it is a credit to him.
Mizen To Malin
There
will be a party night in the High House on Saturday the 7th of August for the men
who took part in the Mizen to Malin challenge. The draw for the prize's will take
place on the night so hope to see a good turn out as all the money raised goes to
Arthritis Ireland – more on this next week.
