X Factor Final in Emyvale.

The final was held in the Leisure Centre on Saturday, Nov 28th as planned and ‘what a night’. The Hall was full to capacity, the standard of the contestants was extremely high, the show ran without a hitch, everyone did the job assigned to them and the general comment of those leaving at the end was: ‘fantastic show’, ‘very very enjoyable’, ‘very professionally organised and implemented’  and similar comments. Of course there were winners and losers and those who did not get an award will feel it. However they can hold their heads aloft as they all gave excellent performances and very little separated the winners and the others at the end. The Audience Vote went to Orlaith McKenna, Letgonnelly. For that she received €750. Poundhill Centre, Aughnacloy, donated generously to the club for the event and also donated €500 to the Charity nominated by the winner’s sponsor. Emyvale Ladies GAA  sponsored Orlaith and Paudge Colleran, the Chairman, collected the cheque and said that it would go to help those flooded out in the west of Ireland. The Judges’s Awards went to in 3rd Place - Donna McMahon, Carrickmore, (€250); in 2nd Place was Glaslough Youth Band - MGRB (€500) and the X Factor title was won by Orlaith McKenna, (€1,000). So Orlaith made a clean sweep and was thrilled. So also were her family and Dympna was overwhelmed with delight. Congratulations to the winners, also to all who entered, to the great audiences we had each night, and to the organisers, who must be complimented on their work to present such a wonderful night of entertainment.
