Jazz Supper Night.

On Friday, Feb 26th, Mary and Nelius Flynn organised a Jazz Supper Night in the Red Star Cafe and Bistro on Main Street. Emyvale. This was a novel idea and the proceeds of the night are going to the Trocaire Appeal for the Haiti Fund. The night consisted of a very tasty and delicious supper served courtesy of the Red Star proprietor, Chef Richard Smith. The atmosphere was warm and intimate for the night which introduced the DCU Jazz Band to the Monaghan audience. Lead singers with the band are Emyvale girl, Catriona Flynn, and Michael Clesham. These young artist produce a fabulous sound with their musical talents. Barry Quinn  was in charge of sound. (We hope to bring you a sample of their music later.)

There was a good turnout of people to enjoy the night and to contribute to the Haiti Fund and this is the type of event that could catch on very quickly and there might be others to come. If you were unable to attend but would like to donate to the fund you can contact Mary Flynn at 047 87296. Already the total has reached €1900.

Here are some of the people who attended.

We received the following note in relation to the Jazz Night:

Trócaire Thanks: A sincere thank you to everyone who supported, or helped in any way with, the Jazz Supper Night in Emyvale last month. The final total donated to Trócaire was €2117 and all of this is guaranteed to be used to help the people of Haiti. It really will make a difference to their lives.  From  Jen Murphy, Community Events Organiser, Trócaire.
