If you go to our page on Corracrin Characters (Click HERE) you will see that the teachers and pupils of St. Patrick’s National School, Corracrin, had decorated and livened-up their school yard and surrounds by adding very life-like, colourful and artistic Nursery Rhyme Characters. Unfortunately some of the characters seem to have taken on a life of their own at the weekend and were fed up standing around and decided to sample the educational qualities of another National School. Some say that they left Corracrin as the children and public had begun to take them for granted. However eagle-eyes pupils spotted the errant characters in the grounds of Tydavnet NS as they were going past and then discovered that they were actually the Corracrin characters. The authorities were informed and the Gardai ensured that the straying characters returned to their posts at Corracrin.
It may be an amusing story but there is also a serious side. We say shame on the mindless vandals who would perpetrate this stupid act. At least they did not do extensive damage to the characters but to go to the trouble of taking them away and placing them elsewhere is a poor form of joke. The Gardai would like to hear from anyone with information in relation to the act.

Tired from their travels

Beginning to miss her sheep.

According to the Nursery Rhyme, Little Bo-Peep lost her sheep but in this story we regret to report that the sheep lost Little Bo-Peep but thanks to the eagle eyes of some of the pupils the straying characters were apprehended and returned to their posts. Here we see pupils wondering where she could have gone and even the sheep look anxious.
