The Universal Graphics sponsored Cycling Tour of Monaghan was held on Sunday, Sept 27th leaving the Emyvale Leisure Centre at 10am and completing a 140 mile trip round many parts of the county and then back to base. Prior to the start the Club made a presentation of a cheque to Mary McCaffrey, Secretary of the Monaghan Branch of the MS Society. This was the proceeds from another event run recently by the Club. It was then out on the road and there was a great sight when almost 100 riders moved out on the Main Street and headed for the Clara region. They came from a wide area including Tyrone, Armagh as well as Monaghan. All returned safe and sound to enjoy refeshments in the Leisure Centre.

Its amazing what you hear when you are out. It seems that Paul, Martin and Pat went to a local Nursing Home to entertain the Residents. They went down extremely well and were invited to come back again. As a matter of fact Pat was nearly not getting home as they wanted to keep him.
Is it true that when they were leaving Paul said ‘Goodbye and I hope you all get better’ to which a lady shouted - ‘we hope you get better too’.
