Kevin Donnelly Memorial Blitz 2009.

14 teams turned out to contest the Kevin Donnelly Memorial Blitz on Saturday, Oct 3rd 2009. It was appreciated that a team would travel from Knockbridge to take part. It was also poignant that Truagh, Scotstown and Eire Óg should be involved as they were all involved on the evening that Kevin passed away while refereeing a game. For Emyvale it was a sad occasion as they remembered all that Kevin had given to the Club and this was summed up at the end by Chairman of the Ladies Club, Paudge Colleran. Kevin’s son. Shane, also spoke and expressed the gratitude of the family to the club and all involved in the Blitz. Emyvale ladies tried hard to capture a win but were defeated in the semi-final by a single point. Great credit must go to all who were responsible for the organisation and running of this event and special praise to Brenda McAnespie for her trojan contribution.
