Emyvale V Dunedin Connollys Jan 24th 2010.
Emyvale continued on the winning trail in the Junior Club Championship, now at All-Ireland level, when they defeated Dunedin Connollys from Edinburgh in Newry on Jan 24th 2010. They got off to a great start with a goal and ended scoring two further goals which was the difference between the sides at the end with a score of 3 - 7 to 0 - 7. However the margin does not show the true strength of the Scottish champions as they had some excellent players and tested Emyvale in every sector of the field. It was an opportunity for Gerry McCarville to try out some of those on the bench and give them an opportunity to contribute positively on the field of play to the campaign. Indeed questions might be asked about the consistency of some of the regulars, as some of them appeared rusty and a little lacking in commitment. That will be gone hopefully for their next game against the Mayo Champions in Longford next Sunday. A win there and it is off to HQ for the final and just about everyone is looking forward to seeing Emyvale race out onto the hallowed turf of Croke Park.
