Seniors: Our senior side had an excellent week. They enjoyed a comprehensive victory over Blackhill last Wednesday night and then on Saturday night had an equally convincing victory over Killanny. Against Killany we started very well with an early Robbie McHugh goal setting us up nicely. Gareth McQuaid, Paddy J McKenna,Gavin McKernan and Marty McAree were among the others who scored to leave us 1-9 to 0-2 in front at the break. Two Daniel McMahon points got us started again in the second half with scores coming from 6 different players in the half including half backs John Flannary and Brendan Askin. Marty McAree got the second goal with ten minutes left and substitute Paddy McCarron rounded the night off with three fine points. The final score 2-17 to 0-4. Team: Stephen McAree, Barry Hughes, Sean McMeel, Killian McKenna, Brendan Askin, Shane McKenna, John Flannary, Paddy J McKenna, Gavin McKernan, Gareth McQuaid, Martin McAree, Robbie McHugh, Niall Mohan, Brendan McKenna, Daniel McMahon subs James Bellew, Paddy McCarron, Darren McKernan, Seamus Downey, Colm McKenna

B Team: Our second string were defeated by a single point by Ballybay on Sunday night. We had ample chances to win the encounter but it just was not our night. Team Stephen McAree, Barry Hughes, Gerard McCaffrey, Barry McDonald, Brendan Askin, Sean McMeel, Seamus Downey, Patrick McCarron, James Bellew, Gavin McKernan, Daniel McMahon, Colm McKenna, Brendan Keenan, Martin McAree, subs Niall Mohan, James Kane, Cathal McKenna

C Team: We lost out to Oram in what developed into a very competitive game on Monday night. Oram led by seven points at half time but we battled hard and played our way back into contention, leading at one stage in second half by a point. Cathal McKenna put in an outstanding display at full forward in the second half scoring 1-3 and its great to see him back in flying form. The other Emyvale goal came from second half substitute Barney McNally who at the ripe old age of ?? still knows where the goal is. Two very late goals from Oram flattered them a little in what was a tight game.

Best Wishes: We had a difficult week in terms of injuries. Paddy J McKenna sustained a hand injury on Saturday. He has been in outstanding form all year and we wish him a speedy recovery. Darren McKernan also took a knock and likewise he is a big loss for senior and minor teams. Gareth McQuaid also had to come off on Saturday night after he received a heavy knock. We wish all three players a speedy recovery.  Finally, a Blackhill player had to receive medical attention during the game last week and an ambulance was called. Thanks to all those who assisted the player in question and we wish him the best.

Welcome home: welcome home to John Thomas Treanor who has returned from the US. JT was togged out for the seniors last Saturday and we look forward to seeing him back in action soon.

Bingo: Our weekly bingo takes place tonight (Thursday) in the Leisure Centre with jackpot flyover of Eu5600 and a mini-jackpot of Eu500 on 53 calls or less.
