Hurling Championship Semi-final 2011

After the defeat in the Reserve Final last week Truagh were likely hoping to reverse the outcome and get a place in the County Final of the Hurling Championship for 2011. They faced Castleblayney and that was not going to be easy. From the start Blayney showed that they were not going to let Truagh get anything handy and went into a lead early on - a lead they were never to relinquish but added to as the game progressed. The Truagh boys tried hard and never gave up the effort. Watching the game one would think that there was nothing between the sides and that either side would win but the scoreboard told a different story and the finishing was the crucial element. Michael McHugh in the number 14 jersey was taking scores from his frees and long range points gave the defence little chance. Blayney will contest the final.
