Heritage Painting Awards:
Monaghan County Heritage officers organised a Painting Competition in conjunction with the Northern Standard and to coincide with National Heritage Week programme of events in the county. The results and presentation of awards took place in the Markethouse recently and the delighted winners accepted their awards from Heritage officers Sandra and Rory. The results were as follows: U5’s - Isabelle Dinkin - 1st; Tara McGee - 2nd; Dara McDonald - 3rd.  U8’s - Emily Doran - 1st; Aoibheann Treanor - 2nd; Lauren Rice - 3rd.  U12’s - Chloe McCoy - 1st; Eimear Campbell - 2nd; Josh Cassidy - 3rd.  12’s + - Aisling Gimmes - 1st; Tara Murphy - 2nd; Cadista Cassidy - 3rd. Well done to all the winners and to the huge number who participated in the competition. Credit also to the Heritage section of Monaghan County Council on organising this and all the other events which were run during National Heritage Week.
